Brazil was the venue for a fiesta of darts last weekend!

Last weekend was of course a momentous one for Diogo Portela and for us too as he qualified for the PDC World Championships in London in December. This qualification tournament has taken months of planning and the man behind it is Sven Schneider.

Between him and Diogo they have worked with the PDC to create a South American qualification tournament the climax of which was on Saturday. But, the qualification tournament was just part of what was a fiesta of darts over a whole weekend.

Here are the result sheets which shows what was played!

As you can see Diogo had a fantastic weekend and scooped a fair few prizes. Sven also did amazingly well bearing in mind he was also running the whole event! Now I have been involved when we run the New Forest Masters and the thought of Chris Skinner, our tournament director, trying to take part as well seems impossible!

Diogo’s partner at the World Cup Alexandre Sattin was runner up to Diogo in the PDC qualifier and a losing semi-finalist in the pairs. With the World Cup team and Diogo playing at Ally Pally in December this can only start bringing more players in to playing not only in Brazil but South America as a whole!

It is very exciting and amazing for us to be involved not just with Diogo but the Performance Darts, including Diogo's Challenger's have made their way to Brazil and are now available in Sven's darts shop!

So a very exciting times for darts in Brazil and in particular for World Championship qualifier Diogo Portela :)
