What A Week For Peter Sajwani

Two BDO titles in a week and Peter is on course for a return to The Lakeside!

One of the many great things about the BDO is that players all over the World are given a fair chance of qualifying for the 3 BDO Majors. There are various regional tables where players from neighbouring countries still can qualify for the main events without having the expense and hassle of flying thousands of miles to try to qualify via the mainly UK and Europe dominated events.

Our sponsored player Peter Sajwani, twice Lakeside qualifier, set out to get back to Lakeside (and the Winmau Masters) via the Baltic and Scandinavia tables. He secured sponsorship to get him to all the Baltic events and certainly made it clear to me that he had one goal and that was to be a contender at Lakeside 2018!

So last weekend Peter set off for the first event of the Baltic Tour. Iceland was the venue and he got off to a flying start! Peter beat “The Iron Man”, Dennis Nielson in the final.

At the weekend Estonia was the next stop. Again it was another flying start for Peter. He won the pairs competition with Darius Labanauskas. Peter and Darius then met in the final of the singles with Peter securing the Estonian Open title!

On Sunday Peter’s run came to an end in the ¼ Finals but he bagged another 4 points in the race to Lakeside 2018.

So we would like to say congratulations to Peter. We know he has been working hard on his game the last few weeks and it is paying dividends! I am going out to Denmark for the Denmark Open this weekend to meet up with Peter. Who knows we may bring you some details of what he has been doing to up his game in recent weeks!
