Who Will Be Runner Up?

Yes it is the 2017 World Championships - Surely it's MVG's to lose isn't it?

It is time for the annual darting festival from the Alexandra Palace in North London - The PDC version of the World Championships!

MVG is the big favourite (best price 4/5) after a record busting year on the PDC circuit. It is reminiscent of Taylor in his pomp, odds on before a dart has been thrown. Talking of Taylor he is 11/1 3rd favourite with reigning Champion Anderson at 13/2 in second spot to keep his title.

Not much value to be had there then! Gary Anderson has been in poor form over recent months and it will be hard for him to pick up his game sufficiently  to trouble MVG. In fact he may struggle to get the better of Peter Wright so Snakebite at 12/1 looks a good outside chance to me.

He has a superb technique, which is well suited to playing under intense pressure and beneath his showman exterior he is cool and calm. So let's go with Peter Wright each way or maybe an MVG/Wright final at 9/2.

This is what we have to look forward to tonight:

Thursday December 15 (7pm)
Jamie Caven (5/4) v Kevin Painter (3/4)

Jamie Lewis (4/6) v Mick McGowan (7/5)
Gary Anderson (1/14) v Mark Frost (12/1)
Michael Smith (4/9) v Ricky Evans (9/4)

I think Jamie Lewis will get the better of McGowan and surely Michael Smith has enough about him, despite his erratic form to see off Ricky Evans.

Lewis/Smith Double
