Winmau World Masters Day 2

Posted: 03.12.16 in Tournament Analysis Blog category

It's the Men's Last 16, Ladies 1/4 Finals and the WDDA comp today

It was a long day in the press room yesterday. 16 Men's games and the 2 Youth Finals. It was a cracking day of darts though. It's the Last 16 in the Men's comp today and the Ladies 1/4's. The matches are:

Glen Durrant (2/7) v Davy van Baelen (16/5)

Wesley Harms (42/41) v Darius Labanauskas (10/11)

Deta Hedman (3/10) v Corrine Hammond (5/2)

John O'Shea (17/11) v Brian Dawson (4/7)

Anastasia (1/3) v Maria O'Brien (28/11)

Aileen de Graaf (4/7) v Trina Gulliver (13/8)

Jamie Hughes (8/15) v Jim Williams (6/4)

Lisa Ashton (1/7) v Vicky Pruim (19/4)

Mark McGeeney (6/5) v Scott Waites (10/13)

Kiley Edmunds (1/1) v Alan Soutar (1/1)

Dean Reynolds 5/6 v Darryl Fitton (11/10)

Scott Mitchell (8/11) v Geert de Vos (5/4)

It is also the WDDA BDDA Winmau World Masters competiton today and our friend Davil Gill is playing. He was first reserve after narrowly missing out in the qualifiers and got the call up as one player had to drop out. All the best to him and we will be there to support him!

So where are the shocks going to be today? In the Ladies we know Maria O'Brien from our trips to the Devon Open. She really is a terrific player and if she can hold her nerve then Anastasia could be in for a tough game. Vicky Pruim also comes highly recommended by Peter Sajwani but she does have a tricky one v Lisa Ashton.

In the Men's they all look potentially very tight. Brian Dawson always prepares well and I fancy him to go through. I will be looking at the overs in the sets market as the matches are too tight to call!
