Roll Up, Roll Up, the show goes on again tonight!

2015 World Matchplay Day 3

Roll Up, Roll Up, the show goes on again tonight!

Blackpool was the place to go, back in the day for anything a little different. Amongst the fairground rides, the magic and joke shops were the side shows giving you the chance to view all things weird, wonderful and a little freaky-The Winter Gardens relived those halcyon days yesterday and gave spectators the opportunity to be “mind boggled” with the show they put on in Blackpool yesterday!

We had Mensur, the man with quite possibly the worst technique and freakiest throw in professional darts demonstrating to the incredulous crowd how powerful memory muscle is. He floats his darts, roughly in the direction of where he would like them to go, and yesterday they mostly went in. Terry Jenkins was Mensur’s stooge for this part of the show, and The Bull must still be wondering how he lost.

Then we had the incredible sight of Pipe, the World’s most meticulous dart player as John Part charmingly describes him throwing caution to the wind and throwing his darts three times as fast as he normally does. It worked well but it was too late to save him against an early exit V Jamie Lewis.

Next up was the World’s strongest dart player, Gerwyn Price. His muscles rippled on every throw, as he tore apart Michael “Bully Boy” Smith 10-4 in the time it takes Price to do 200 barbell bench presses!

Amongst all that Ian White, Gary Anderson and James Wade put in more conventional but high quality performances. A most entertaining day!

Tonight the action is:

Monday July 20 (7pm-11pm)
First Round
Robert Thornton 4/6 v Keegan Brown 11/8
Dave Chisnall 3/10 v Jamie Caven 3/1
Phil Taylor 1/12 v John Henderson 11/1
Raymond van Barneveld 2/9 v Andy Hamilton 7/2

Tips: Well the faith in the “old school” failed miserably yesterday as Merv and Jenkins were sent packing. We are going to stick with the old guard though and go with a Thorn and Barney double.
