The 2014 Darts Performance Centre Coaching Night

The highlight of The Darts Performance Centre calendar is approaching!

We are rapidly approaching the highlight for me in the Darts Performance Centre calendar – Our Members’ Night! It is being held on Friday November 14th in Mew Milton, Hampshire. The night before The New Forest Masters.

We held our first one last year and it was tremendous. Well I thought so anyway! From a personal point of view this event , in a way,it was a culmination of the three years effort that had gone in to getting the DPC off the ground, not just by me, but Andy H, Chris and Angela, as well as all the members that have supported us since we started. I also had the chance to welcome Del who flew over from Canada, Aidan flew over from Ireland, Richy came across from Wales and plenty of others came from around the UK.

This year we hope to welcome more of you. We have Matt returning, a sports psychologist who gave us an excellent session on Pre-Match Preparation. We are giving Jamie the year off, but hope he can come back next time!

We will have the video camera running, I would like to get everyone (who wants to) on video with analysis to follow as there are two tournaments to compete in so wholesale changes on Friday night will not be the way forward. I hope to get involved this year with some aspects from our Board Management session which I hope will become relevant when Matt starts his session.

Another big area is everyone getting to know each other and listening to their ideas. I am not exaggerating when I say that amongst our members we have some real deep thinkers with some fantastic ideas on all aspects of the game. If anyone would like to share any of their ideas, practice games etc I would be very happy to open the floor to you to pass on your message.

The big event of the evening will of course be the Members Only Tournament. We will play to a finish on Friday Night. Daniel King-Morris is returning to defend his crown so get on the practice board if you want to take this off him.

We will start at 6.15pm with the first event scheduled for 6.30pm. We have the hall until Midnight but we are hoping to wrap things up before that in time for a little bit of social afterwards. We will be supplying sandwiches (and sausage rolls of course) etc to keep you going at some stage during the evening. The bar will be open all night too.

Our practice room above the shop is open for you all day for any early arrivals. We also have access to the hall from Midday, so we will have plenty of time to get that organised. So at some stage in the late afternoon all players can swap our practice room for the Memorial Hall.

There are a very few spaces for non-members who will of course take part in all the sessions although there will be a separate tournament for non-members.
