Winmau World Masters Finals Day

Here are the games, odds and thoughts on the final day of The Masters!

I have been lucky enough to be helping out behind the scenes in Hull over the past week. It has been a fantastic experience, from watching the qualifiers at the Airco Arena to all the action from Hull City Hall. We’ve had shocks galore and even a power cut. The word is that when the huge Hull Fair powered up half of the lights in Hull went out.

The only downside is not having enough time to do my own blogs but here are some thoughts for today.

After so many seeds went out the day before yesterday they fought back in the Last 16 games yesterday! Seven out of the 8 players left are seeded! We also had the Ladies semi-finals and two Youth finals! It was quite a day. With my Darts Performance Centre hat on it was fantastic to watch Ireland’s Robyn Byrne win the Girls event using our Performance Darts! She is some player!

We have another full day again today!

WDDA Final

12pm Ricky Chilton   3 : 2    Phil Lees

The winner to play Andy Fordham on stage directly after the final

On completion draw for the 2015 Lakeside World Professional Darts Championship

You can watch the World Disability Darts Association Final and the Lakeside draw on YouTube. Here is the link for that: WDDA and Lakeside Draw - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y_tTEjxHOxA

Men's Quarter Finals - Best of 5 sets 3 legs

14.00 Mark McGeeney (11/8)  0 : 3   Martin Phillips  (4/7)
14.30 Glen Durrant    (11/8)     3 : 2   Scott Mitchell (4/7)
15.00 Alan Norris  (1/2)          2 : 3   Jamie Hughes (15/8)
15.30 Gary Robson   (15/8)     2 : 3   Martin Adams  (4/9)

Semi Finals

Martin Phillips   6 :5  Glen Durrant

Jamie Hughes  6:5  Martin Adams

Final

Martin Phillips 7 : 3 Jamie Hughes

Outright Odds:

Alan Norris 11/4  Martin Adams 9/2  Scott Mitchell 4/1  Martin Phillips 6/1  Glen Durrant 10/1  Jamie Hughes 12/1  Gary Robson 16/1  Mark McGeeney 16/1

Men's Semi Final - Best of 9 sets 3 legs
1st Men’s Semi Final 16.00
2nd Men’s Semi Final 17.00 16.00

Ladies Final – Best of 7 legs

6pm Fallon Sherrock (8)     v   Anastasia Dobromyslova (2)

So, how do you call these games? McGeeney came through yesterday but had to come from 2 legs down to force a last leg shootout and had to endure the power failure just as the final leg had begun. But he looked a shadow of the McGeeney we saw the previous day and the wily Welshman Martin Phillips should win this one.

Durrant v Mitchell is going to be tight. I would go with Scotty. He has changed recently, he seems to have bit more grit and determination in his game, mental toughness maybe if you excuse my jargon!

Alan Norris is odds on for his match against Jamie Hughes but I wouldn’t fancy any cash on with those odds. I have also seen how classy both players are. This one will be tighter than the bookies think.

Wolfie is on last again and it will be interesting to see if his last gasp win last night will have an effect. Robbo has admitted himself he is throwing brilliantly and “he feels really good”. You can get Robson at 15/8 although I like the look of 10/11 on the handicap with a 1.5 leg start!

DPC Double

Scotty and Robbo (handicap + 1.5) (Corals)

Results and updates as they happen today!
