How Do You Practice ?

We have some fantastic members at The Darts Performance Centre. Dart players who take the game seriously, who are keen to improve and most importantly (for us anyway) are open-minded and willing to try out our ideas. On the whole, following this method, our members have improved!

The most fundamental and key aspect of performance improvement is practice. This is not disputed. What is disputed is what you should practise and how to extract every bit of benefit from a session no matter how much time you can dedicate.

We like our members to get organised. We offer them a document to organise when they are going to practise. When they have worked that out we ask them to plan their sessions, what they are going to focus on, what their goals and targets are for that session. We then ask them to record their progress and enter their statistics into their own profile area specifically for this data. Finally we suggest they reflect on what they have achieved in their diary area and we offer them feedback and advice on their diary entries. It’s hard work being a member of The Darts Performance Centre! It is also perhaps no surprise our members are winning more darts matches than they used to as well!

One of our members is Lee. Lee joined the site at the end of February and has been working his way around the various areas of the site.

Lee got in touch and with us to say “Cheers Darts Performance Centre you’ve inspired me to really get into this game that I love and make it part of my life”. We like Lee .  Lee was organising his new practice schedule and we asked him if we could turn it into a blog for the site. We are keen to get all our members to consider the benefits of an organised regime as well as demonstrating to players who haven’t signed up yet what we are up to.

Lee has already sent us his first session schedule and statistics. We will collate that and publish the details very soon.
