The Premier League and the Mystery Tipster Return

Former PDC and current BDO player Anthony Urmston-Toft looks forward to the Premier League and he has had his calculator out and predicts a "180" festival!

A new season starts this week. And it’s the best one yet, I expect so many 180’s we could all be desensitised by it!

The Players

  • Mark Webster
  • James Wade
  • Gary Anderson
  • Simon Whitlock
  • Raymond van Barneveld
  • Terry Jenkins
  • Adrian Lewis
  • Phil Taylor

The Winner

Now everyone’s money will be on Taylor, he won over the weekend and is playing good darts. However, I’m picking Gary Anderson to win the whole event. He has one of the most natural throws in the game and with the experience of the world final and his laid back approach he is my pick to bring home the title.

Week 1

First week and it’s at the o2 in the smog of London, a great place to be and surely going to be a great night, maybe a 9 darter too. The games are tough to call every week, but here at the Darts Performance Centre we do not shy away from giving our opinion, providing it has been well researched of course! So here goes:

Mark Webster v James Wade

James Wade had a mixed season last year after some well documented issues away form the game. He seems to be getting back to his best but still not 100% in my view. Mark is Mr Consistency and can better his average at an alarming rate. This one will be close but 8-4 to Webster here.

Gary Anderson vs Simon Whitlock

Man in form vs Magic Man here, Gary has been in phenomenal form but Simon is one of those guys who can finish like a demon (a victim myself on one memorable occasion). I expect 180’s to fly here and high checkouts galore. I think the form of Anderson will prove too strong for The Wizard, 8-4 to Gary.

Raymond van Barneveld Vs Terry Jenkins

This could be the “sleeper match” of the night with both palyers in “OK” form but both know how to turn on the style. We could have an onslaught or a “Barney Burner” of a match either way I think Barney has enough to halt the Bull and will win but by how much is another question, the safe bet 8-5.

AND THE MAIN EVENT OF THE EVENING!!!!!

Phil Taylor Vs Adrian Lewis

“Teacher vs Student” “Sorcerer Vs Apprentice” it’s got every possible event title you could want(Ex World Champion V Current World Champion is another). I expect a game of excellence here folks, both players are in good form and both will be keen to do special things on the oche to prove a point. So too close to call? No,  I’m going Taylor 8-6 on this. I’m also going 9-darter here and… (Head on the line here), one from each! That’s right, TWO 9-DARTERS!

So there we are folks my picks and specials, May the darts be with you!

So my "safe", "tricky" and "statto" predictions are:

Double Top – Anderson and Taylor

Double One – At least one 9 darter

Stat Bet   - 180`s –Over 28 (7/4 at skybet)
