(15) Ryan Hogarth (SOT) 3 v 1 Thibault Tricole (FRA)

It was another memorable day at the O2 yesterday with the star attraction, 14 year old Leighton Bennett played his game v former World Champion Scott Mitchell. Scotty Dog went about his business in his usual methodical style and went through 3:1. Leighton showed flashes of the brilliance we have all heard about and he did well in his first World Championship.

Earlier on in the evening it was a case of “no change” for Mr Ben as Ben Hazel went though 3:2 again. This time it was his turn to mount a comeback against BDO stalwart Gary Robson who went from the sublime to the ridiculous in the space of 5 sets.

In the Ladies event Lisa Ashton showed ominous form in a totally one sided game against Paula Jacklin. Evans, Olde Kalter, Anastasia, Veenstra and Ryan Hogarth also all prevailed.
