It is a double header at the palace today!

PDC William Hill World Championship Day 2

It is a double header at the palace today!

What a cracking start to the World Championships. A fairly routine win for Klaasen to start the night and our former sponsored player Geert Nenjtes played out a 5 set thriller with Kim Huybrechts. The Belgian’s experience prevailed in the end but not before Geert landed our most 180’s tip.

World Youth Champion Luke Humphries overcame the confusion of who he was playing – Red Dragon, his sponsors had put him up against Kevin Petersen! But Luke wasn’t stumped by this typo and the chasm between Humphries and Petersen was far wider than I predicted and Luke went thorough 3:1.

MvG won his bitter encounter with Klaasen with a 170 finish thrown in for good measure to end the night.

We have two sessions today including what will inevitably be an emotion fest for as long as Barney makes the trudge on to the stage. He plays Darin Young from the USA in the penultimate game tonight before what should be a feisty encounter between Cross and Huybrechts.

Lots to look forward to and we will update the blog later with some tips.
