The PDC World Championships starts tonight!

It’s here! The 2019/20 PDC World Championship starts tonight (Friday 13th) and it is set to be another spectacular competition.

There are 96 players taking part, Barney calling it a day after one final tilt at the world crown, an ex-rugby player in the darting form of his life and MVG, back to his best at a best price 6/5 to win again!

Oh yes and a 100K bonus for two 9 darters!

What’s there not to love?

We will be bringing back to life our blogs after skipping a few tournaments recently so please do check back regularly for our view of the action from a performance analysis viewpoint.

Tonight, Klaasen and Burness get the PDC ball rolling for the chance to play MvG in the last game of the night. One of our former sponsored players, Geert Nentjes takes on Kim Huybrechts.

Geert qualified last year but had a shocker. If he can play with more composure this time out, he has a real chance of causing an upset. On his day he is brilliant.

The penultimate game is a cracker. Luke Humphries v Devon Petersen. Luke goes off as 4/6 favourite which surprised me. Don't get me wrong Luke is a fine player and like Devon a real nice guy too.

But Petersen had a tremendous run last year and this could go either way and in my book both players have an even chance.

Anyway, a cracking night ahead – bring it on!

Schedule of Play

Friday December 13 (1900 GMT)

3x First Round, 1x Second Round

Jelle Klaasen (4/11) v Kevin Burness (5/2) (First Round)

Kim Huybrechts (4/11) v Geert Nentjes (13/5) (First Round)

Luke Humphries (7/10) v Devon Petersen (6/4) (First Round)

Michael van Gerwen v Klaasen/Burness (Second Round)

Tips

I do believe Geert Nentjes has a chance tonight. However, when we first met Geert he was banging in 60's at last year's Euro Q School. So the 5/2 for him to hit the most 180's is more appealing.

For a bit of fun I think this is who will win:

Klaasen
Geert
Petersen
MvG
