Adam Smith-Neale Signature Darts

Adam Smith-Neale is one of darts’ up and coming talents, but with a difference: Adam is a proven major winner. Smith-Neale shocked the darting world last year, winning the 2018 Winmau World Masters, defeating the 2016 champion Glen Durrant 6-4, with an impressive 96.86 average. He fought off a strong performance from the three-time BDO World Champion, who himself averaged just shy of 100, to claim the £25,000 prize money.

The current BDO ranked number 14 formerly played in the PDC, competing in both the Development Tour and the Challenge Tour, as well as the Pro Tour in 2011 and 2012, having won a Tour Card after four successive L16 places in the 2011 Q-School. In 2012, in the first of three Development Tours in Germany, Adam took home the £3,000 winner's cheque by defeating another rising star, Josh Payne.

The future is certainly bright for the 25 year old who, with the transferring of star players from the BDO, with Glen Durrant and Mark McGeeney both leaving the tour to play in the PDC, now has a great chance of capitalizing on this in years to come.

After a disappointing Lakeside debut, in which after suffering a broken leg in a tournament in Italy, he was forced to play the match in crutches. Adam will be even more determined to make an impact come Lakeside 2020. At the BDO World Championships 2019, Adam fell to a 3-0 defeat in the preliminary round to New Zealand’s Mark McGrath.

As well as qualifying for Lakeside from his Winmau World Masters win, Adam also qualified for the PDC Grand Slam of Darts. In his group were not only 2018 PDC World Championship finalist, Michael Smith and the 2017 Winmau World Masters winner, Krystof Ratajski, but also five time champion of the world, Raymond van Barneveld.

In his opening game, Adam fell to a 5-3 defeat at the hands of Smith, before a closely contested game saw him miss match darts in a 5-4 defeat at the hands of ‘Barney’. In his final game, in a battle between the 2017 and 2018 Winmau World Masters Champions, Adam faced an unplayable Ratajski, in which he was up against a scintillating 101.93 average, ultimately falling to a 5-1 defeat.

Adam is sponsored by Performance Darts, who manufacture darts built to Smith-Neale’s exact specifications. Adam’s darts have a black titanium nitride coating, which provides grip and feel to the dart without the need for deep grooves along the barrel.

There are two lateral groves towards the rear of the dart, used for finger placement to ensure the dart is picked up and thrown in the same way from the same position. This aides Adam as it allows him to be consistent in his throw helping him to keep finding the treble or double he aims for.

The darts are available in 22g (48mm x 6.41mm) and 24g (48mm x 6.44mm)
