Another thriller at the Palace yesterday and another in store today!

PDC World Championship Day 2 Review Day 3 Preview

Another thriller at the Palace yesterday and another in store today!

It has been a good few weeks for Kim Huybrechts. First of all Kim tweeted that at least he wasn’t the most hated man in darts anymore after Gerwyn Price faced the wrath of many darts fans after he cleverly tricked Anderson into falling for his antics and won the Players Championship title.

Now Kevin Burness has popped up at the Ally Pally and ousted Kim’s walk on song (Hi Ho Silver Lining) off number 1 spot of the worst walk on song league table! Burness, the Iron Man didn’t look right striding on to his delightful Irish foot tapping tune!

Once the music stopped though the Iron Man proved he did have a lot of mettle and thumped poor Paul Nicholson 3:0 . Now Nico has been through a lot trying to resurrect his career and it was a bitter pill for him to have to swallow. He didn’t take it well!

Once again, his darts were abandoned on stage, as if it was their fault. Looking in from the outside is always hard but maybe this gesture by Nicholson can help him regroup. To even to get back to the Ally Pally is a massive achievement and Nico needs to reflect on where he was a year or so ago and realistically just getting back on the stage should have been his goal, winning the first round should have been a stretch target or bonus if you don’t like jargon!

Abandoning his darts is pointless. He needs to regroup, reflect on what went wrong and go again. If you need any more darts by the way Nico we have plenty of them in DPC Darts Shop!

Ultimately Burness was to fall at the next hurdle but did well in a 3:1 defeat by Gary Anderson.

Other stand out games were the Harris/Lewis game. Two great pro’s who are a credit to the PDC. Super Ted deserves a shout out too, he won 3:0 but it was not as easy as that sounds.

It is another double header today and some tough games to call: Max Hopp v Danny Noppert is the stand out game in the afternoon. Any Germany v Netherlands clash is always tasty and this will be too. I fancy Noppie to nick it but it is going to be a close call.
