A Typical DPC Weekend

It was a busy one for us last weekend!

Last weekend was a busy one for us at the Darts Performance Centre!

First up our sponsored player Diogo Portela had one last crack at the Challenge Tour to try to get an automatic tour card. After missing the last set of games but having a World Cup berth under his belt as compensation he still had a lot of ground to make up.

We were tuned into the games from our weekend base in Hayling Island and Diogo made the last 32 (Cody Harris) in CT 17 and the last 128 (Trevor Burkhill) on Saturday. On Sunday it was  a Last 32 spot (Nathan Rafferty) in CT 19 and the last 16 (Barry Lyn) to wrap up CT 20.

Diogo finished in 15th spot on £3050. He won CT 2, which is a massive achievement. So Q School it is, I have told Diogo Wigan is lovely in January!

Me and my colleague Chris Skinner spent the weekend running the DPC Mobile shop at the Hampshire Darts Festival in Hayling Island. It is a fantastic event, held in November and May each year with 600 people descending on Mill Rythe holiday camp for a weekend of darts, entertainment and some liquid refreshment.

We would like to thank everyone that came to visit the shop. It is a huge effort to make the shop mobile but we had a great weekend.

Finally, Adam Smith-Neale, 2018 Winmau World Masters Champion and recent signing for our sister company Performance Darts was playing at the Grand Slam in Wolverhampton. On Saturday I managed to catch the last few legs of his first match v Michael Smith with Bully Boy going through 5:3

On Sunday Big Dog had 4 darts to KO Barney which brought out the reaction above brilliantly caught by the PDC photographer, but the wire came between him and a famous victory. Adam is action again tonight in the last match of the group stage. He plays Krzysztof Ratajski.

So an eventful darts weekend, we were involved from the grassroots players at the Hants darts festival, through the stars of tomorrow on the Challenge Tour and then all the way up to the Grand Slam stage. Not bad that is it!
