Blackburn Youth Academy Sponsorship

We are proud to announce we have entered into a sponsorship deal with Blackburn Youth Academy!

We were approached recently by Keith Brunt who is the Academy coach for the Blackburn Youth Darts Academy about sponsorship for the Academy.

We are delighted to announce that we have agreed to be the official sponsor for the excellent Blackburn Youth website. We also donated some prizes of our Practice Plan for the raffle just before Xmas!

Why did we get involved? Well, we are very keen on the idea of darts academies but we do often wonder how much actual “coaching” goes on! We did not have this concern with Keith.

He explained, “Our Academy not only coaches over 30 kids aged 6 to 18yrs but monitors and analyses their performance via stats and graphs. I personally have a BSc Hons degree in sports coaching and elite performance and would love to have myself and the academy work with the Darts Performance Centre in some way. Perhaps you could make a visit to the centre sometime”? 

With my background in darts analysis and coaching this was of course of great interest, so our partnership has begun!

Keith went on to tell us: “The academy is based at the Beechwood Club in Blackburn which is a fantastic venue and gives us great support. The Academy are proud to have PDC player Stephen Bunting as our Ambassador and are affiliated to the Junior Darts Corporation.  We have support from professional darters from near and far. Youth Champion Bradley Brooks is a member of the Academy and we are proud to have member Jordan Hoole as the Academy Captain”.

We will be visiting the Academy soon and also trying to arrange a guest appearance with our sponsored player Diogo Portela who can give the Academy some “Samba Style” darts coaching!

The Darts Performance Centre is a resource to assist dart players of all standards play better darts. The site is arranged as an online coaching manual.

There is advice on technique, nerves, psychology, goal setting, practice games, an area to log your statistics and an interactive area where your darting questions are answered by two sports scientists, one with 30 years dart playing experience.
