We have Jackpot`s finest hour, a biscuit loving dart player and some more inside knowledge...

Today`s blog is a partnership. Anthony is `enjoying` the joys of fatherhood and after a sleepless night only had the energy to text his predictions in. Normal service will be resumed in roughly 18 years

Hold The Bells!

Jackpot finally got his reward last night and was crowned PDC World Champion. Well done to him. We described Adrian as a world class sportsman recently and now he is a truly world class dart player and has thoroughly deserved his finest hour.  Over to Vince:
“I firmly believe that any man's finest hour, the greatest fulfilment of all that he holds dear, is the moment when he has worked his heart out in a good cause and lies exhausted on the field of battle, victorious”. (Lombardi, V.)

Didn`t We Have a Lovely Day The Day We Went To Lakeside?
We did actually, Junior Darts Analyst and I had a ball! There were all sorts at the Lakeside, young and old, slightly chunky and bald – and that was just the players taking part yesterday. We “howled”, not at Wolfie but at Martin Fitzmaurice`s stand up routine. We rocked all over the world with Bobby and an “under-cover” darts analyst set aside his `professional` interest in proceedings and scampered around like any enthusiastic but very slightly demented darts fan assisting Junior in the collection of autographs.

Scott Mitchell was not content just to sign an autograph, oh no, he quizzed Junior on her darts playing ability, proffered some coaching advice and then told her the one about eating dog biscuits in Holland, live on TV. He didn`t explain why he had dog biscuits in the first place mind, his dog`s invisible you see! She reflected on this meeting several hours later on the way home,” he was really nice, he didn`t think he was better than us just because he was a dart player”. Indeed he didn`t, and that was the day in a nutshell, players and darts fans mingling, enjoying their sport of choice and welcoming the next generation to the party.

Bookie Bashing
BDO player Anthony Urmston-Toft demonstrated his analytical techniques are as sound as his throwing technique by forecasting yesterday the four winners of the afternoon session at Lakeside in his blog. Not satisfied with that he then selected Wolfie and Smudger to prevail in the evening session on Facebook. If anyone did almost bankrupt their bookmaker yesterday do not forget your `mystery tipster`, he has a long and expensive journey around the BDO circuit next year so he can postpone his current role and actually play at  lakeside in 2012. All assistance (financially) is appreciated!
